Antigua, Guatemala: they say it's where you go to see the fake Guatemala. And so it was where I ate pizza and watched the Germany-Australia World Cup game with a slew of German expats, who abound in this country.
The pizza wasn't great, but the beer, Gallo, came in hefty pints and made my experience satisfactory. Now, to be fair, this is the bar menu, so that's why they only have cheese, pretzels, pizza and pirujos (little sandwiches) available. But I heard the dinner menu, claiming schnitzel and spaetzel and whole fried fish was a little intimidating, so "El Pequeno" suited me just fine while I cheered for Germany in Espanol.
