Burma Superstar

I'd heard of the legendary Burma Superstar for years: the tea leaf and rainbow salads, the perfect melding of Burmese, Thai and Laotian cuisine, and the extraordinary wait times.

Well, as luck would have it, I was visiting SF and ended up near Clement St. around dinnertime, and my friend had made reservations for B-Star, the lesser known offshoot of the original.  I sort of hemmed and then opted to give a crack at getting into Burma instead.  We waited the standard 45 minutes down the block at The Bitter End.  A couple of Bear Republic Racer 5's later, we were back at Burma Superstar, shining golden menus in hand- easy as pie.
This is one (another) menu I really like to relive and redo.  We ordered well, starting with the Tea Leaf Salad, adding the Chili Lamb, Garlic Noodles, Okra Egg Curry and Platha- but upon rereading I want to go back and order again.  At the end of the meal we were totally satisfied, even plucking bits of noodle from the bottom of the bowls, but this menu is extensive!  I read tons of reviews, each claiming a different dish is the best- a good sign for a restaurant.  People want to try everything on this menu- no wonder the line is always so long.
We all know I want some of that Crispy Chicken.

I could probably eat Burmese food every day.

Many of these dishes could be names for my band (Homestyle Oxtail Claypot).

Burma Superstar is good to Burma.
