Schmidt's

Thanks for taking me here, E+N, late one night after a tropical drinks session in Alameda. Most people would head home after our strange San Francisco night, but no, we headed to Schmidt's, their local snack-food-place for some assorted meats and the warm, silty dregs of the Glühwein.
The Glühwein warmed me, so I opted out of a warm entree and went instead with the "slaughter plate". Charcuterie is generally a favorite choice of mine since you get to try several options and share with the table (in return for bites of their dishes, obvi), and this one had loaves and wursts and fun things you don't often get to try at home. It's a funny version, that German charcuterie, not as sexy as the Italian or French variety, but a nice nitecap nonetheless.
