It's raining here, so it's time for a little reminiscing. Normally, I'm moderately interested in airplane food- slightly more so than your average flying companion, but I'm usually just as dismayed by my poor selection of pasta over chicken ("the chicken actually looks more edible!"). Anyway, the tiny silverware reminds me of my grandma's cutlery that she accumulated over years of golden-era plane travel, and there is usually a fun number of small portions to keep me amused.
Well, here is the best airplane meal I have ever had, courtesy of Air France. Small wonder; these guys blow our lazy airlines out of the water with their fresh(ish) baguettes and camembert, salad with real vegetables!, and adorable mini bottle of good wine. I didn't even care what they had up there in first class, but now that I think about it, I bet it was absurd, like Ratatouille cheffing away from the overhead bin.
