Samarambha Kamat

Although the menu collection began long ago, it really solidified in 2007, on a trip with G3 to the culinary wonderland of India.

Kamat was our breakfast spot on the Colaba Causeway and, despite the extensive choices, we usually chose wada and idli (simply put: lentil "donut" and lentil cake)in combination with raita (~yogurt) or lassi. Their onion rava (wheat pancake) also kept us coming back, because it definitely wasn't the service.
We didn't try the thali plate here, but we did experiment with kulfi in our last days, after hearing the myths of this fruity sorbet with crunchy noodles. A glass of Kulfi Faluda (#314) was the equivalent of just under $1 US.
