Bar Tabac

We're thinking about going to Bar Tabac right now, so I'm checking out the menu I have, picked up from brunch one day. Bar Tabac is an ol' neighborhood standby, with good & reasonable brunch options and interesting small plates for late night hunger pangs, when you don't feel like sitting down for a real dinner.
I also like that this place is constantly at least semi-full, even on weekday afternoons, like, why aren't people working? Oh, because they're French and they think they get the French version of a siesta- siestique? Seriously, though, there are a surprising number of French people in this restaurant, which makes me think it's Authentic, or at least worthy of telling your French friends that they can pretend like they're back home or something.

Well, this menu is fun and unpretentious with great salads, shareables and French influences that are just enough without feeling like you're in a theme park. I think I've gotta go get a Croque Monsieur, which is really just a grown-up Toad in the Hole.
