Eisenberg's Sandwich Shop

Good, simple, New York stuff. This place was next to my work for a while so I tried a bunch of items from there: chicken salad, matzo ball soup, sandwiches. I was really glad to have it next door because it's not a destination spot, just a good old fashioned Jewish deli with standard food that's good for lunch. They really play to the 50's theme with the icons on the menu, but it's actually not a theme- the restaurant is actually old timey, just like the aggressive roll-eating photo on the cover.

It's always great when a dish says "from Bubie's original recipe". You probably can't do it the way g-ma did, but it's nice to pretend. Also they basically tell you they're going to scoop your tuna onto your plate with an ice cream scoop and that it will arrive on your table in ball form. Who orders "the tuna scoop platter"? The guy in the corner drinking the Lime Rickey.
